Review: MuttNation™ Dog Products by Petmate and Miranda Lambert
Petmate® has teamed up with country music superstar Miranda Lambert to release a new line of toys, apparel, bedding, feeding and watering products, collars and leashes inspired by Miranda’s lifestyle. MuttNation™ products combine country chic with rock n’ roll flair and come to life with adorable vintage prints and antique-looking hardware and accents that make the products really stand out. Every purchase of these products helps fund rescue and adoption programs through the MuttNation Foundation™, an organization established by Miranda and her mother Beverly in 2009.
When I heard about MuttNation products I knew we had to try them. Bart’s not a good traveler in the car and we often play music to soothe him. Country music, including Miranda Lambert’s tunes, are some of his favorites!
.Petmate kindly sent Bart a care package of collars and toys for us to put to the test and report our findings here. Here’s the scoop!
I’m really impressed with the overall look of the line. You can see Bart’s sister Duchess (shyly!) modeling a collar here, and in fact, it’s now the collar she’s wearing all the time. Like all the MuttNation products we received, the collar is very high quality. The toys are really cute and I think would be durable enough to entertain a dog in tug and chew play for quite some time. They are handmade of mixed materials and come in a variety of styles. Also available (shown below) is a line of six life-like plush toys, the MuttNation Rescue Mutts, inspired by real-life rescue dogs. Each plush toy comes with the dog’s rescue story and aims to further the MuttNation Foundation goal of helping assist dog adoptions.
Seen with Bart at the top of this post are the Wagon Wheel Rope Tug and the Bandana Star Plush. These would probably be perfect for small or medium size dogs. The squeaker inside the star is really loud – a plus for dogs that love a good squeak, but if your dog is startled or distressed by squeak toys, it may not be the best bet. The overall range of toys in the MuttNation™ line is huge, though – including floating flying discs, footballs, tug ropes, faux animals, tennis balls, monkey fists and even faux tambourines and guitars.
The collars like Duchess is wearing are also equally diverse, from denim with conchos to tassels and fringe, bandana and cowhide prints. They’ve definitely got that fun country look. Overall, this line has something just about everyone and every dog will enjoy. And best of all, it benefits homeless animals, helping them find their forever homes. Miranda Lambert said, “I really hope that we can raise awareness to the joy of adopting a shelter pet through our MuttNation product line.” I hope so, too!
