NEW YORK— The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) raised over $1 million dollars at the “Fairy Tails” themed 14th annual ASPCA Bergh Ball at The Plaza Hotel on April 14, 2011. New York City socialites, community leaders and notables crowded the ballroom filled with a passionate crowd of animal lovers there to dine and dance in support of the ASPCA’s mission, “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”
This year’s ball was emceed by renowned fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi. Also in attendance was Grammy award winning musician Roberta Flack, actress Lake Bell, No Ordinary Family star Julie Benz, owner of Dylan’s Candy Bar Dylan Lauren, Sports Illustrated model Genevieve Morton, model Lonneke Engel, fashion designer Kimberly Ovitz, NBC4 news anchor Chuck Scarborough and wife Ellen Scarborough, entertainment reporter Jill Rappaport, Alexander Jakowec of 1stdibs®, President and CEO of ASPCA Ed Sayres and wife Michele Sayres, world-class professional poker player Beth Shak, Miss Connecticut 2010 Brittany Decker, Miss Colombia María Catalina Robayo Vargas, Jamie & Peter Gregory, Laura Zambelli Barket, Kim White & Kurt Wolfgruber, Benjamin & Linda Lambert, Jonathan & Somers Farkas, Dixon & Arianna Boardman, Michele & Fredrik Gradin, Jeff Pfeifle, Allison & Jay Aston and Elizabeth Walker.

The support for this great cause was felt citywide; The Empire State Building’s iconic Tower was illuminated in orange last night in celebration of the 14th Annual ASPCA Bergh Ball.
